Blessed be.

This night was dark, darker then usual. A storm had come in and it was pouring rain. The only light to be seen in the sky was lightning that splayed across. The wind had started to pick up abit, while people tried to hurry to their homes or any place off the streets. Those that were homeless, tried to seek shelter in the sewers or even churches.

Nights like these made it either easier or harder to hunt. One particular Vampire was having a devil of a time, unable to prey on anyone in the alleyways, the tavern wasn’t good either as it was over crowded. He wander through the rain to find a dry place. Somewhere to wait out the rain, till he could return to the labs.

He happen upon a building, the doors were unlocked. So he walked in figuring he could get a snack while waiting. However when he walked in the place look like a church. He blink a few times looking around as he walked in further. The outside didn’t look like a church, so he was rather confused.

Footsteps were heard and the Vampire panicked, running to the confession booth and going in to hide. He could hear muffle voices as he stayed there.

“All im saying is if the council gave us more support, our operation would run smoother.” One Vampire said.

“You have their support, but as the council has said before, your operation is to be in shadows. If it got out, your operation would bring more discourse than it would be helpful. ” Stahs explained.

“I get that, but come on. Surely they could have given us better place for base or atleast set us up with a second base of operations. ” the other Vampire explains

Stahs sighs “I’ll see what we can do, but I’m not making any promises. I’ll just run the idea by them.”

“Thats all I ask Grey. ” the Vampire responded, as they continued walking. Heading out of the building. The other Vampire that hid on the confession booth sat back as he figure he could hide here abit.

As he sat there trying to relax, he heard the slide of something. Glancing to see a silhouette of a figure through the mesh screen. “So tell me child when was your last confession?” The voice spoke.

The male blink some and then says “I don’t do religion. Not one to believe theres a god or one singular god.”

There was a chuckle “This is not a place of god. It is hard to believe such for kindreds such as us. No child your confession are for her. Mother of us all, she who guides us.”

The male arch a brow “Kindred?” He ask.

“Vampires. Are you lost child? Abandoned or did you too lose your sire?” The priest ask.

The man was perplex by this priest “So this place is a front for vampires?” He ask.

“This place is a church for vampires. I am Father Voltruist. I notice you did not answer my question. Are you ashamed? Or is it a hard subject for you?” Voltruist would explain, before following up with more questions at the end.

The male listen as the priest spoke “Im not ashamed at all, my sire abandoned me after i was turned. Im not sure why that matters to you.”

“A lost little bat, well you have come to the right place. Led by her, there is no doubt about it. She brought you home.” Voltruist ssid in a pleasant tone.

The male furrow his brow, he knew he couldn’t stay here. If he tried Azazel would just come get him and he rather not embark that wrath. No he instead move to get out of the booth. No sooner as he did, did Voltruist come out too.

Wagner stared at the priest a moment, before moving to leave. “Where are you going? It is still raining and I doubt you have anywhere to go. Stay, you won’t be harmed here. Can even get you some fresh blood.” Voltruist spoke, moving to stand beside wagner. Placing a hand on his shoulder.

Wagner looks at the priest “Actually I do have a place and really must be going. Even with such tempting offers.”

Voltruist tilt his head “She brought you here for a reason, this is where you are meant to be.” Moving his hand as he clasp them infront of himself.

Wagner arch a brow “uh huh. Yeah I’m really more or a loner. I just do better on my own.”

Voltruist just stared at him “Lie all you like to yourself and everyone else, but you can not lie to her.”

Wagner stared at the priest “Are you planning to hold me here against my will?”

Voltruist laughed “oh no. You are free to leave, if that is what you wish. I am merely saying you coming here was no accident. Should you ever change your mind, my doors are always open. Especially for those she has picked. “

Wagner slowly nods “uh huh. Ok well um, I think I’ll take my chances with the rain.” Moving to leave.

Voltruist just stayed where he was “Just know, you are not alone little bat. We all are tortured beings in this life.”

Wagner got outside and glance at the building “What a crazy fool. Almost makes me want to bring him to the labs, if I didn’t think Azazel take him for himself. He seem like he be fun to experiment on.” Walking in the rain as he spoke to himself, heading back to the labs before Azazel got suspicious of his absence.
