Gears was the seventh in the second alphabetical series of shapeshifters created by Nervana Labs. Focused on assimilating technology, the shapeshifter strove for Dr. Wagner’s approval but was largely ignored in favor of 24. After the doctor found Virus and brought him to the lab, Gears bonded with Virus due to the similarities between them and joined the hive. As the doctor joined the hive he came to view Gears in the same way he did Virus.
