When they reached artifact storage he glanced around. There weren’t many interns left in the building, none of them here. Good. The floors and walls were still covered in red from Stahs coming through. “Shit. We need to hurry. They’re almost done.” Gears said, walking quickly to where the heart was kept, shifting his hand to interface with the panel and unlocking the box.

Virus looks at the blood, reaching towards it as he looked about. “All this for 24…” he murmured. As Gears went to get the heart. Virus held his stomach and just stared at the blood “Whats so much better about him?” Closing his eyes. He might have the pieces or wires hooked up, but mentally he was still broken. The malfunction only mutated now. He didn’t freeze, but he twitch slightly. Like he could hear voices in his head.

Gears grabbed the heart as soon as the box was open, leaning over and spitting a mouthful of nanites into the box that rearranged themselves into the shape of the heart and even glowed like it. Then quickly shut the case and locked it back up. “Here. Hide it.” Gears said, pressing it into Virus’ hand.

Virus blinks startled as he looks to Gears and then felt the heart in his hands that power. He was trying to focus, don’t eat now. Don’t eat now.

Gears could feel the struggle though the hive, taking Virus’ hand in his and guiding it to one of Virus’ pockets. “Not yet. Soon.” Gears said. Once they had it they only need wait til the next time Azazel played with his pet without the doctor.

Virus watched as Gears help him put the heart away, god it was tempting. He look to Gears trying to focus on him. ” What…about the other things doctor said? We have to get everything for both of us.”

“Yeah, we might have time. I don’t know if we can get everything on this run since most of the rest is in his private storage but there’s one other thing he wanted from here.” He looked around a moment but stayed close to Virus. “There.” He nodded, drawing Virus with him in the hopes he didn’t drift back to the heart.

Virus looked around and the heard Gears, he go to follow him “Right….but definitely need the important stuff.” He state. He was trying to not think of that delicious heart.

Gears nodded, “Yeah. Can’t forget.” He agreed. Too much was riding on this. They had to get this right. He drew him to another box, unlocking this one as well. Inside was an egg, or at least a vaguely egg shaped object. Gears quickly grabbed that and shoved it into his pocket, vomiting up a mouthful of nanites there and getting them into the proper shape before closing the box and locking it. “Alright, we’re good here.” He turned to nod at Virus.

Viris tilt his head curiously. He watch closely and then looks to gears “What is that?” He ask him. He then grab Gears arm “Ok…lets go back. Be we run into smiley.'”

“Supposed to have magic in it. I believe he intends to augment me with magical abilities among other things, since most of my skill is with technology.” Gears explained. He nodded as Virus grabbed his arm. “Yea, let’s move.” He agreed, starting back.

Virus nods listening and would move to leave the room ” right….I can do magic.” He say. ” it makes fusing so much easier.” He told Gears.

“Fusing?” Gears asked curiously as he left storage and headed back with Virus.

Virus pulled Gears along “Mhmmm I can fuse to ensure things take that normally you need it to be compatible. I make it compatible.”

“Amazing,” Gears said with wonder in his voice as he was pulled along. He knew these things though the hive but it was different to focus on specifics out loud. “You really are wonderful.”

Virus reach to gears face, trying to ignore Wagner. He felt what was going on and it drove him nuts. He hold on to gears tight.

Gears felt it too, wrapping his arms around Virus as his face was touched. He had an idea for a distraction from the discomfort. “How much can you feed from the heart here safely?” He asked. Hoping to help Virus prevent another nightmare.

Virus shrugs alot….I can feed alot.” He told him. Pulling out the heart “Just….it…sooo interesting.” Looking at the heart now “how it feels….feeding on energy is a amazing.” He told him.

“Good, may as well make the most of the time.” Gears nodded. It was something to focus on other than what Azazel was doing to Wagner. “Isn’t it?” He said, smiling at him. He followed his eyes to the heart. It was so bright. “I bet it is, it must feel so inexplicable.” Gears said, focusing on Virus, though he kept tabs on Azazel.

Virus didn’t waste time he began to feed and oooo he felt that burst of energy hit. Feeding more and more, the spikes came out on his jaw, his nails grew some. His electrical wings pop out. Oh he missed this rush, this feeling.

Gears watched as he fed, fascinated. He’d watched Virus feed off life forms and the reactor but never the heart before. It made a stunning sight, especially as the wings popped out. “Time is short.” Gears cautioned, looking to Virus’ face.

Virus was more then abit consumed at the moment, that gluttonous side coming out as he kept feeding. The more he fed, the more things he started to unlock abit. As a metal spine looking tail ascends out. This heart did things, brought things out in him and he loved it.

It was hard to want to pull him away from feeding, feeling it to an extent through the hive. He looked at Virus, in awe of his beauty. Bringing his hands up to touch his face though he was mindful of the spikes at his jaw.

Virus felt the touch to his face and looks at Gears, his eyes a purple like color as he slowly slowed the feeding. “We could live in this heart.” He told him

Gears smiled a little as he gazed into his now purple like eyes. “It will be an amazing feeling when the doctor makes it part of you.” Gears nodded. “You are already so magnificent.”
